The highest sailing in Europe is available throughout the summer months at the Davoser See, about 10 minutes' drive away. A natural glacial lake of around 30 square kilometres, it is equipped with sailing boats and boards for hire. The one week instruction courses are always popular. The Davoser See is no ordinary lake. It is usually the deepest hues of blue and green due to the high mineral content, and surrounded by stunning peaks in all directions.

White water rafting can be booked from Ilanz to Reichenau, about 30 minutes' drive away. It is a spectacular, if rather bumpy, ride through one of the narrowest and highest gorges in Europe. It takes about an hour. The rafts include experienced instructors and full safety equipment is provided. Just as well given the speed of the water and the size of the whirlpools!
